Angelika was already hiking with her mother in the South Tyrolean mountains as a child and climbing up and down the trees in her garden. But when she got in contact with the rock at the age of 10 during her first via ferrata, her only thought from then on was: I want to climb. This opportunity arose shortly afterwards when a climbing hall was opened in her hometown Merano. From now on she dedicates herself to this sport with heart and soul.
As a three-time world champion and two-time vice world champion in ice climbing, she celebrates one success after another and is still one of the greats in this sport at the age of 31. Apart from climbing, Angelika also remained close to nature during her studies. In 2008 she completed her bachelor's degree in agriculture in Bolzano and from now on it is time to work. Or climbing?
Angelika Rainer will give a lecture on Thursday, 11.10.2018 at the KIKU Sports Academy on the IMS-Stage.
