The International Mountain Summit creates a key space for an open exchange of ideas and a platform to present innovative and inspiring mountain-related projects to the public. The initiative IMS Projects itself inspires innovation and collects the best ideas for the entire mountaineering environment.

With a growing number of challenges facing the mountains and everything related to them, there are plenty of topics to be creative about: from the dramatic consequences of climate change to an increasing use of the mountains as a leisure and recreational destination as well as agricultural and tourism developments or mountaineering and outdoor sports. Whatever the objective - new routes, new technology, a new way of experiencing the mountains or simply finding members for an expedition, the International Mountain Summit is the place to be. But IMS Projects is also about protecting the environment, reducing and avoiding waste production in the mountains and finding new concepts of sustainable farming and tourism. It is a hotspot for artists, designers and other bright minds.

All ideas are collected and evaluated in collaboration with a series of international media partners. The best projects will be rewarded with VIP tickets to the IMS and shown to the public as well as media representatives at the event.

And this is how IMS Projects works:

• All projects submitted must be mountain-related.

• They must contain new and innovative elements (a description of which is to be included in the project brief).

• All projects must be feasible and must not have been put into practice before 01/01/2009.

Submission requirements:

• a brief description of the project and its implementation (maximum two A4 pages)

• photos or film material
