Women´s Summit at IMS 2010
The Korean alpinist Oh Eun Sun (KOR) and the Spanish alpinist Edurne Pasaban (ESP), as well as the celebrate journalist Eva Maria Bachinger (AUT) and the author Ingrid Runggaldier (ITA) have confirmed to participate at the International Mountain Summit. These women made history of alpinism! Eun-sun Oh is the first woman that stood on the summits of all 8000ers, an achievement also accomplished shortly afterwards by Edurne Pasaban, while Nives Meroi was the first woman on ten of the highest mountains in the world. The IMS will unite for the first time three protagonists of this epic alpinist contest.
Round table discussion:
The discussion focuses on the life concepts of women devoting themselves to the mountains. What motivates them? What is their female perspective in an alpinism dominated by men? What are their goals?
